Second Meeting of Human Gene Editing Study Committee

Serageldin joined the members of Human Gene Editing Study committee that is conducting a comprehensive consensus study on the scientific, medical, and ethical considerations of human gene editing. The committee held an information-gathering meeting, where invited experts discussed perspectives on human gene editing.

A Public Lecture at Sofia University

A two day visit to Sofia, Bulgaria, held another busy schedule for Serageldin. He met with Vezhdi Rashidov, Minister of Culture, and paid an official visit to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, where the President of the Academy, Stefan Vodenicharov, presented to Serageldin the Honorary Sign of the President of the Academy for his outstanding contributions in science.

An Eventful Day in Athens

Serageldin Signs Agreement with Electre and BnF

In 2009 the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) donated half a million books to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) to develop its Francophone Library. This generous gift will now be further enriched by a new agreement signed between the BnF, Electre, and the BA, whereby 1500 books will be donated annually by Electre over the next three years, a period renewable by the three parties.
