President Ilham Aliyev invited Ismail Serageldin and Vaira Vike-Freiberga, Co-chairs of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC) as his personal guests to the Closing Ceremony of the First European Games held in Baku this month. During the ceremony President Aliyev awarded Serageldin the “Dostlug” Order (Order of Friendship), of Azerbaijan, for his activity as co-chair of the NGIC. Serageldin said he was honored to receive the award and presented President Aliyev with the first copy of a book on Nizami Ganjavi published by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Arabic.
