Second High Level Panel Meeting in Johannesburg

02/11/2012 | Johannesburg

Following the first meeting of the African Union (AU) High Level Panel on Science, Technology and Innovation held at the BA last August, the panel convened once again in Johannesburg for further review and deliberation. Serageldin co-chaired the meeting together with Calestous Juma, Professor of the Practice of International Development at Harvard University.

Established in 2002, the African Union consists of 54 African States. Among its objectives are the achievement of greater unity and solidarity between the African countries and the promotion of peace, security, and stability on the continent. The panel will guide the AU on the review process of Africa’s Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action (CPA).
