The University of Georgia and Ilia State University in Georgia awarded Serageldin two honorary doctorates in recognition of his academic and scientific contributions. Having received much media attention, Serageldin was interviewed by Georgia State Television about possible cooperation means between the BA and cultural institutions in Georgia.
In Azerbaijan Serageldin received two honorary doctorates from State Agricultural University and Odlar Yurdu University for his accomplishments in the fields of agriculture and development, and as Ambassador of the Alliance of Civilizations respectively. He also signed a memorandum of understanding with Odlar Yurdu University.
It is worth mentioning that Serageldin is a recipient of 33 honorary doctorates from different world universities.
