The Library of Alexandria Greatly Admired by IFLA Delegates

At the World Library and Information congress held by The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) on “How to fix the World: Committee on Free Access to Information and Freedom of Expression”, Serageldin gave a lecture entitled “In the Eye of the Storm: The Library of Alexandria and the Arab Spring”. The presentation included videos and pictures of the Egyptian revolution, which received warm rounds of applause from the worldwide convention of librarians. The IFLA delegates also showed a high regard for the Library of Alexandria.

IFLA is the leading international body representing the interests of library and information services and their users. It aims to promote high standards of provision and delivery of library and information services.
