Africa Prize Awarded to Serageldin in a Grand Ceremony

In a grand ceremony held in the State House, Accra, Ghana’s Excellence Awards Foundation awarded Serageldin the Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize. The celebration was attended by HE President John Atta Mills of Ghana, HE Vice President John Dramani Mahama, and HRH Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, King of Ashanti, the biggest tribe in Ghana. The ceremony was a national event attended also by Heads of State of other African countries, world figures and a great number of people from all over Africa. TV and radio interviews were held with Serageldin on this occasion.

The Excellence Awards Foundation is a private institution established in 1999, which presents the Millennium Excellence Award every five years, to honor outstanding achievement by individuals who have selflessly served the continent of Africa and contributed to its socio-economic development. Previous recipients of the award are Kofi Annan, Former UN Secretary General; and Jerry Jon Rawlings, former President of Ghana.
