Once again, Serageldin participated in the Annual Petra Conference of Nobel Laureates, convened by The King Abdullah II Fund for Development and The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity. The conference brought together a great number of eminent world figures as well as participating youth from the region. This year’s theme was: Reaching for New Economic, Scientific and Educational Horizons. The plenary sessions focused on bridging the economic gap between developing and developed countries, and on eradicating extreme hunger and poverty, while a series of brainstorming sessions encompassed issues relating to innovative educational tools; arts and culture as powerful tools for communication; advances in medicine, science and technology ; and energy solutions.
