At the Ninth Annual Meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) held from 2 to 5 September in Istanbul, Serageldin joined fellow panelists from Australia, Europe, USA, Africa, the Middle East and representatives of International Organizations, in a workshop session entitled “One World, Diverse Content and Flexible Access”. The workshop brought together prominent entities, with different backgrounds, who were pioneers and promoters of multilingual content creation and dissemination. The session was jointly organized by the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology (Egypt) and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
The IGF serves to bring people together from various stakeholder groups as equals, in discussions on public policy issues relating to the Internet. The objective of each annual IGF programme is to maximize the opportunity for open and inclusive dialogue and the exchange of ideas and good practices.
