As participant in this NGIC high-level dialogue in Rome, Serageldin, among other members of NGIC, was invited to a Private Viewing of the Ara Pacis and the “Aquileia 2200” exhibition held in the same building. The Ara Pacis is a huge altar for the goddess of peace, dating from the time of Augustus the first of the Roman Emperors which has been brought to Rome back in 1938 and is now in this splendid setting.
“Aquileia 2200” is an exhibition celebrating 2200 years on the founding of the small northern town of Aquileia, with images and historic pieces that mark its evolution over 2200 years.
