Following the UN Permanent Representatives Retreat held in Alamein on 31 August, the BA hosted 50 UN delegates, as part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs meetings organized to promote Egypt’s nomination for the membership of the UN Security Council. Serageldin gave a presentation on the Library of Alexandria, old and new. The UN Permanent Representatives discussed the challenges and threats facing the global community and how to resolve them, including the issues of world peace, development, and the role of small and medium-sized states in the decision-making process.
