Jim Yong Kim, President of the World Bank, invited Serageldin to a roundtable discussion hosted at the World Bank Group headquarters in Washington DC, with a cross-section of faith-based organizations and religious leaders to foster dialogue and greater collaboration in the common pursuit of combatting poverty. The discussions focused on how to work together to accelerate progress in ending extreme poverty across the world by the year 2030.
Serageldin worked in a number of capacities at The World Bank (1972- 2000), including Vice President (1992-2000).
