At the Euro-Mediterranean Innovation Marketplace, held from 26 to 28 January, under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Ahmed Nazif, Prime Minister of Egypt, Serageldin will give a keynote speech in a session entitled Science Communications: Challenges and Opportunities for the Euro-Mediterranean.
The Euro-Mediterranean Innovation Marketplace is a platform for science and innovation stakeholders from European and Mediterranean countries to meet and develop innovative business projects and partnerships. The three day event will include a research forum with various plenary sessions, debates, and presentations delivered by key political players, scientists, entrepreneurs, inventors and business people to address issues of interest to the scientific and industrial regional community. The Forum sessions will focus on innovation as a key growth driver. Topics will also include climate change, solar energy, and Arab science and technology strategy.
Among the key speakers are H.E. Eng. Rachid Mohamed Rachid, Minister of Trade and Industry, Egypt; H.E. Dr. Hany Helal, Minister of Higher Education and State for Scientific Research, Egypt; H.E. Ambassador Marc Franco, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Egypt; and Dr. JM Rodriguez Silva, Director General for RTD, European Commission.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is one of the partners of the Euro-Mediterranean Innovation Marketplace and will be taking part in the Euro-Mediterranean Innovation Exhibition also being held as part of the event.
