As a founding member of the Chirac Foundation, Serageldin participated in the ceremony held at Musée du quai Branly in Paris to award the winners of the Conflict Prevention Prize and the Culture for Peace Prize. Serageldin was a member of the jury, comprised of leading peacemakers, that selected two recipients for the exemplarity and the urgency of their efforts. This year’s winner of the Prize for Conflict Prevention was Tunisian human rights activist and blogger Amira Yahyaoui, in recognition of her work informing and empowering voters in her country. The prize has been awarded annually since 2009 to a person showing distinguished commitment to preventing conflict in sensitive areas of the world. The newly created 2014 Culture for Peace Prize was awarded to Clowns Sans Frontières, a French organization, founded in 1995, for its action in favor of populations affected by war, poverty, and exclusion. French President François Hollande and Former president Jacques Chirac were present at the ceremony.
