A two day visit to Sofia, Bulgaria, held another busy schedule for Serageldin. He met with Vezhdi Rashidov, Minister of Culture, and paid an official visit to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), where the President of the Academy, Stefan Vodenicharov, presented to Serageldin the Honorary Sign of the President of the Academy for his outstanding contributions in science. The awarding ceremony was attended by Manal El-Shinnawi, Ambassador of Egypt in Bulgaria; Petar Stoyanov, President of Bulgaria (1997 to 2002) and Evdokia Pasheva, Scientific Secretary General of BAS.
Seragledin then visited of the Library St. Kliment Ohridski University, and following meetings with the Library Director, the University Rector and Professors, he gave a public lecture entitled “Seven Pillars of the Knowledge Revolution” at the Aula Magna of Sofia University. He visited St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library and met with its director Boryana Hristova. He was also interviewed by the Bulgarian National Television show “Panorama”.
